Former President Donald Trump announced he will meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy on Thursday amid renewed speculation about the status of his relationship.
“As you know, President Zelenskiy has requested a meeting with me, and tomorrow morning at approximately 9:45 a.m.,” the 45th president told reporters at the midtown skyscraper that bears his name. We're planning to meet at Trump Tower.”
Zelenskiy met with President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris in Washington, D.C., on Thursday.
Democrats have pledged to support Ukraine in its war with Russia, and Ukraine's president has presented Biden with a peace plan behind closed doors.
President Trump said he wants to “save lives” in Ukraine and reach a peace agreement between Ukraine and Russia.
“I don't want to say what it is,” he told reporters at Trump Tower when asked about the agreement.
He had previously said he didn't want to set out his plans until after taking office, but in the months between the election and Inauguration Day he insisted he would end the war before entering the White House.
