ESPN Hot Take Artist Stephen A. Smith featured a powerful and surprising nod for the office potential from the president on Tuesday.
Trump was talking to the News Nation panel. I said According to Front Office Sports, he was the panelist who thought Smith would become an interesting political candidate.
“Stephen A is a good guy. He's a smart guy. I love watching him. He has great entertainment skills. This is very important. People are watching him,” Trump told the panelists. “I was pretty good at picking people and picking candidates. I tell you, I want to see him run.”
Of course, that wasn't entirely supportive. Trump seems to have just said that Smith would create an interesting candidate.
Smith spent a lot of time blowing up the Democrats and became a supporter of Kamala Harris' grievances well before the 2024 election. After the election, he even admitted he could consider voting for Republicans. He says the democratic bench is very “weak.”
“If you're a Democrat, that's why Stephen a Smith is in the news,” Smith said on a February podcast. That, however, we weren't able to do it in Iowa in 2020 when she ran to the election herself here. [and] Get Vice President. They will win the election in 2020. Joe Biden feels himself after the Liberal Party won the midterm. Instead of becoming a temporary president as he promised, the man backed the Liberal Party and turned around and said, “I'm staying.” They wanted to kick him out! ”
There are plenty of rumours that Smith is steadily testing the water for his own run at the White House. Despite the rumors, he shook off speculation in February and claimed he had no plans for the 2028 presidential election.
But Smith, who describes himself as a “political centric,” has come out against many of the more radical ideas of the left, including transgender athletes.
But even after all denials, he admitted last month that he “leaves all the doors open” to run for the office.
“I don't want to do that,” Smith told McVay's media president Mike McVay about his political aspirations. “I'm living a pretty good life right now. Life was good. What I want to do is to want to get involved in politics. I always feel that politicians are professional be-eating. I haven't said anything like that in the way either. It's always got something.
“In the last few weeks I have no choice but to be more serious about it. I've been approached by people on Capitol Hill,” he added. “I was approached by people who were elected inaugurated officials, whether you have or not, whether you have them. People justly, seriously, asked me about it. I have no desire to be a politician. I'm not going to close that door anymore. Certainly there's a legal shot to win the US presidency.
