Trump says he's agreed to Sept. 4 Fox News debate against Harris

Former President Trump announced that he had agreed to debate Vice President Harris on September 4th, instead of the ABC debate with President Biden that was originally scheduled before he dropped out of the presidential race.

“I have an agreement with Fox News to debate Kamala Harris on Wednesday, September 4th,” Trump said Friday night. The truth of society“This debate was previously scheduled with Sleepy Joe Biden on ABC but was canceled due to a conflict of interest arising from Biden’s withdrawal and my ongoing lawsuit against the network and George Slopadopolos.”

Trump noted that the Fox News debate will be held in Pennsylvania and will be moderated by Fox hosts Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum.

“The Fox News Debate will be in Pennsylvania at a location to be determined. The debate will be hosted by Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum, the rules will be similar to those for the much-maligned Sleepy Joe debate, but in a sold-out arena!”

Both President Trump and President Biden had previously agreed to the debate on September 10th on ABC.

Trump’s decision to go ahead with the debate with Harris came after days of back and forth between the former president and vice president, with Trump arguing that Democrats needed to finalize their nominee before agreeing to a debate and Harris accusing Trump of “backsliding.”

Earlier this week, President Trump questioned why he should debate Harris, given his lead in the polls.

“Why should we have a debate right now? I would say yes,” Trump told Fox Business Network host Maria Bartiromo. “I’m leading in the polls. And everybody knows her and everybody knows me.”

Trump also addressed the recent upset over Democrats’ reluctance to hold a debate before securing a nominee, leading to Harris emerging as the top Democratic candidate.

Harris met the criteria needed to become the Democratic presidential nominee before Trump appeared at the debate on Friday.
