Trump says Melania will be on campaign trail ‘quite a bit’ when asked about absence

Asked if people should expect to see more of Melania Trump at events, former president Donald Trump said he expects former first lady Melania Trump to be out on the campaign trail “quite a bit.”

During a town hall with Fox News’ Laura Ingraham, the former president praised his wife as a “private person” who is focused on her family. However, he suggested that she would travel with him more often from now on.

“The funny thing is, even though she was a very successful model and very successful, she was a very private person. She’s going to go out a lot. Not because she likes doing it. No, but I like the results,” he said Tuesday. “She wants to see this country really succeed. She loves this country.”

“You know, a lot of first ladies are going to be out. They want to be everywhere. They’re angry because their husbands won’t introduce them,” Trump continued. “She would have been so happy if I hadn’t introduced her to Melania. She’s just a different kind of person.”

Trump, who is likely to become the Republican presidential nominee, described Melania as a “very good person” who “speaks many languages” and gave an insight into how that would be a weapon in his campaign. He referred to Mr. Graham’s previous comments.

He also praised his wife for raising their youngest son, Barron, 17, who is “very tall.”

“Her life revolves around that boy,” Trump said. “That’s very important to her. At the same time, it revolves around our country and the success of our country. She’s raised a lot of money for her philanthropy. is a private person.”

“And she loves this country. She’s going to be out a lot, but she’s not doing it for herself, she’s doing it for the country,” he said. “She’s a very confident person. She doesn’t need that.”

President Trump said last month that he expects Melania Trump to join him soon, saying in an interview with Fox News’ Brian Kilmeade that “she also wants to make America great again.” he said.

“She’ll play, and she’s always had a big role,” he said. Said of his wife. “She was reliable.”

Melania Trump has been largely absent from the campaign trail as the former president attempts to return to the White House. The husband of President Trump’s remaining challenger, former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, was also absent from her event because he is deploying troops overseas, a fact the former president has noted.
