President Trump described Elon Musk's role as the “bigest” job of his illustrious career as the billionaire tech giant.
“Trump spoke about Musk and Doge in an interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity.
The president argued that various Musk business ventures, including Tesla, SpaceX and X, were “all great,” but that they could suffer if they didn't succeed in reducing government waste, fraud and abuse. .
“When this country gets worse, his thing is probably not worth much,” Trump said.
Musk, 53, appeared to agree with the commander.
“When an American ship sinks, we all sink it,” the Doge chief said.
“You know, this idea that people can escape to New Zealand or elsewhere is wrong,” Musk added. “If the central pillar of Western civilization where America is falling, collapses, the entire roof will crash and you won't run away.”
When Trump once again proposed in the duo's first interview, a co-interview, Honity pushed back Musk “nothing is bigger” and “nothing much bigger” than his work at clumsy.
“You're sending ships to Mars, you know, the spaceship always keeps the spaceship in the sky and saves the astronauts…it's pretty big,” says the host of Fox News. asked Musk.
Trump replied: “It's peanuts compared to what we're talking about.”
Musk aims to cut federal spending at least $1 trillion through the DOGE initiative.
The group claims it has already saved taxpayers about $55 billion.
Trump believes Doge lacks the deficit at the current pace. The country may be able to pass a balanced budget “very quickly.”
“What time [Musk’s] I think the president can do that very quickly when revenue comes from tariffs and other things,” he declared. “If this hadn't happened, we wouldn't have done it before.”
In response to criticism that Musk may avoid cutting that affects his own revenue, Trump said he will be involved in the decision of Doge, where his main cost cutter may have conflicts of interest. He declared that he would not allow it.
“If there's a conflict, he'll stop it, but if he didn't, I'd stop it,” Trump said.
“He's under a pretty big microscope, which means everyone is looking at him,” the president continued. “If there is a conflict, you'll read about it within about two minutes of the conflict.”
Musk estimated that he had a “0% chance” of “escape something” in Doge.
“I'm under scrutiny to an insane degree,” he insisted.
When asked if he expected him to be on Trump's side in the White House four years from now, Musk replied: “As long as I can help, I will help.”
