President-elect Donald Trump announced Saturday that he has appointed attorney William Scharf as his chief of staff and White House chief of staff.
In a press release from the Trump-Vance transition team, President Trump called Schaaf a “highly skilled and highly skilled man” who played a key role “in defeating election interference and legal actions taken against him.” He issued a statement praising him as a “great lawyer.''
“I am pleased to announce that William Owen Scharf will serve as Chief of Staff and White House Chief of Staff,” President Trump said in a statement. “Will is a highly accomplished lawyer and will be an important part of my White House team. It played an important role in defeating legal action.”
President Trump continued to emphasize how Schaaf “served as a federal prosecutor” during his first term as president and “worked diligently to confirm judges and magistrates.”
Mr. Scharf “has represented two federal appeals court judges and was an accomplished graduate of Harvard Law School and Princeton University,” Mr. Trump added.
President Trump continued, “Will will make us all proud by making America great again.”
In a September interview with Breitbart News' Washington bureau chief Matthew Boyle, Schaaf talked about how Trump continued his “legitimate streak against legal actions designed to derail the presidential campaign.” I talked about Iruka.
“Since the Supreme Court granted presidential immunity on July 1st, we have won victory after victory,” Schaaf explained. Schaaf's words came after Judge Juan Marchand postponed sentencing for Trump in the New York case.
Breitbart News legal expert Ken Krukowski commented on Schaaf's selection: “The chief of staff is one of the most powerful positions in the White House, and President Trump has shown how much confidence he has in Will Scharf,” said Breitbart News Senior Legal Contributor Ken Kull. Kurkowski responded to President Trump's announcement. “I have had the opportunity to work with Will on several legal matters over the past few years. Will is exactly the kind of meticulous and talented lawyer who could play an important role in President Trump's White House. .”
A New York jury in the Trump Business Records Trial found Trump guilty of 34 counts of first-degree falsifying business records for payments made to adult film actress Stormy Daniels during the 2016 presidential campaign. In response, Schaaf said Trump's legal team would appeal the guilty verdict. And if you want, you can take it to the U.S. Supreme Court.
