Trump Announces Imminent Peace Deal with Iran

President Donald Trump has indicated that a finalized peace agreement with Iran is on the horizon, following optimistic comments from Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

On Saturday, Trump shared on Truth Social that the deal with Iran is expected to be electronically signed on Sunday.

He opened his post with criticisms of a prior agreement made by former President Barack Obama, contrasting that deal with his own forthcoming arrangement.

“Barack Hussein Obama’s Deal with Iran, the JCPOA, was an easy road to a Nuclear Weapon, which Iran would have had six years ago, and would have used long before now,” Trump stated. “My Agreement with Iran is the exact opposite, A WALL TO NO NUCLEAR WEAPON!”

A key objective for the Trump administration during its military actions against the Islamic regime was to stop Tehran from acquiring nuclear capabilities. Operation Epic Fury followed months of unsuccessful negotiations where Iran claimed its enriched uranium—well over the civilian level—was not intended for weaponization.

Another aim during the conflict was to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, a crucial route for approximately one-fifth of the world’s oil imports.

“In fact, they no longer want a Nuclear Weapon, nor will they have one, either through purchase, development, or any other form of procurement. The Deal is scheduled to get signed tomorrow, and immediately after it is signed, the Hormuz Strait is OPEN TO ALL,” the president asserted.

“Our relationship with Iran is much different and better than what previous Administrations experienced,” he continued. “Unlike Obama’s Hundreds of Billions of Dollars in payments to them, including 1.7 Billion Dollars in cash, no money will exchange hands.”

Iran received $1.7 billion in cash through a 2015 settlement with the U.S. In 2016, then-Secretary of State John Kerry noted, “I think that some of it will end up with the IRGC (Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps) or other entities, some of which are labeled terrorists… You can’t prevent that.”

Following the settlement, Iran continued its support for groups like Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis. Its funding for these militant organizations persisted until the Trump administration reinstated sanctions in 2018, significantly reducing its financial backing.

“At the right time, when all is calm, we will go in and retrieve the Nuclear Dust buried deep under the granite mountains, thanks to our beautiful B-2 Bombers and their brilliant pilots, and downblend and destroy it, whether in Iran or the United States,” Trump added, mentioning Iran’s enriched uranium stockpile.

“We look forward to working with Iran, and the entire Middle East, long into the future. Hopefully, this process will all work out quickly, easily, and smoothly. If it doesn’t, we have the ultimate alternative, hopefully never to be used again!” he concluded.

Additionally, Trump has a busy Sunday ahead with events including Flag Day, the UFC America 250 at the White House, and his own 80th birthday celebration.
