The Teamsters Union endorsed Joe Biden in 2020.
This may be about to change.
Donald Trump met with the Teamsters’ board of directors and other members at headquarters.
After the meeting, Trump said he believed he had a “chance” to gain support.
Former President Donald Trump met with the Teamsters Union on Wednesday in an effort to cut into one of President Joe Biden’s previous lines of support.
President Trump attended a roundtable meeting at Teamsters headquarters in Washington with Teamsters President Sean O’Brien, Treasury Secretary Fred Zuckerman, the union’s executive committee, and other members.
President Trump told reporters he had “a very strong meeting with the Teamsters” and said he believed there was a “good opportunity” to gain support from the Teamsters.
“Normally, Republicans don’t get that kind of support,” Trump said, adding that he was in a stronger position than other Republicans and that unions “had a better four years than we had under Trump.” There was no such thing,” he claimed.
