Trump Sets Deadline for Hamas to Reach Agreement by 6 p.m. ET on Sunday, October 5

President Trump issued an ultimatum to Hamas on Friday, giving them over 48 hours to respond to a proposed peace deal.

Trump shared his message on True Social:

Hamas has posed a violent threat in the Middle East for many years! They have caused suffering and misery, especially after the events of October 7, when many innocent people, including children and the elderly, were affected. In retaliation for their attack, over 25,000 Hamas fighters have already been killed. The remaining fighters are now surrounded, waiting for my command to act. We know where to find you; you will be dealt with. I urge all innocent Palestinians to evacuate the area to avoid further loss of life. They will be taken care of by those who are ready to help. Thankfully, Hamas has one final chance! With the support of powerful nations in the Middle East and the United States, they have an opportunity to sign a peace agreement after 3,000 years of conflict. This agreement also concerns the lives of the remaining Hamas fighters! The details are known globally and favorable for all involved. There’s a chance for peace in the region. Violence and bloodshed must end. You need to ensure the release of all hostages and the bodies of the deceased. Hamas must respond by Sunday at 6 PM Washington, D.C. Time. All involved nations are on board! If this agreement isn’t reached, the consequences for Hamas will be unprecedented. Let’s work towards peace in the Middle East. Thank you for your attention! President Donald J. Trump

Trump’s proposal has gained backing from both the Arab and Muslim communities, while addressing Israel’s expectations for releasing hostages, disarming Hamas, and establishing a pathway for Palestinian statehood, contingent upon the fulfillment of political reforms.
