Trump Should 'Refocus' and Return to America First

Rep. Greene Urges Trump to Refocus on “America First”

During CNN’s “State of the Union” on Sunday, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) emphasized that President Donald Trump should concentrate on an “America First” agenda.

Host Dana Bash pointed out Trump’s foreign connections and his actions regarding military assets in Venezuela, questioning Greene about Trump’s recent comments on Fox News where he claimed, “Remember, MAGA was my idea. I know better than anyone else what MAGA wants, and MAGA wants our country to thrive.”

Bash inquired if Greene believes Trump still represents the MAGA movement as he once did. Greene responded by highlighting that the American public voted for MAGA to prioritize domestic issues, stop foreign aid, and avoid foreign conflicts. She expressed that citizens face high costs of living and a healthcare crisis, stressing these were problems she had raised even before the recent electoral losses shocked the Republican Party. Greene concluded by pointing out her hope that Trump can “Make America Great Again” if he indeed focuses on these priorities, regardless of any criticisms directed at her.

Bash commented on Trump’s stance, suggesting it seemed he was distancing himself from the MAGA movement he initiated. Greene criticized the administration’s approach to H-1B visas and the influx of foreign students, arguing it’s not aligned with the America First philosophy. She stressed the need for a domestic agenda that truly supports American citizens.
