Former President Trump lashed out at former press secretary Kayleigh McEnany during a Fox News appearance on Tuesday, accusing her of providing “wrong” poll numbers.
“Cayleigh ‘Milktoast’ McEnany just released the wrong poll numbers on Fox News. I’m 34 points ahead of DeSanctimonias, not 25,” Trump said. true social postusing the nickname of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (Republican).
“25 is great, but not 34,” he added. “She knew the numbers were being revised upwards by the group that did her research. RINOS and Globalists could get her. FoxNews should only use real stars.” is!!!”
McEnany, now co-host of Fox News “Outnumbered,” said Tuesday night that after the governor of Florida officially announced his candidacy for president, an Iowa poll showed Mr. DeSantis was ahead of the former president. He told host Jesse Waters that it showed he was “closing the gap.” The 2024 Republican presidential nominees announced last week.
It is not immediately clear which polls Trump and McEnany are referring to. A recent poll by the Emerson University pollster showed the former president has a 42-point lead over Mr. DeSantis among Iowa voters.
Mr. DeSantis began his four-day campaign on Tuesday through Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina, rallying his supporters outside Des Moines. President Trump is expected to arrive in Hawkeye State later this week.
