Trump softened pro-life stance— but you should vote for him

Former President Donald Trump may have softened his pro-life stance, but that won't deter Americans from blocking Kamala Harris's activism.

Rusty Reno, editor of First Things, wholeheartedly believes this is a spiritual battle we must win.

“This is kind of a referendum on what kind of country we are going to be, or the future of Western civilization,” Reno told Blaze News Tonight's Jill Savage and Matthew Peterson.

“We're experiencing rapid demographic change, falling birth rates, and we're experiencing some pretty dramatic cultural change. I think people will go into this election thinking that this isn't just a policy decision, but a kind of spiritual and cultural decision about what kind of country, what kind of civilization do we want to build,” he explains.

“So the stakes are certainly high,” Peterson comments.

According to Reno, the world seems to have split into “two fundamentally different worldviews” and “it's as if we're living in two different realities.”

Extreme progressives and conservatives are talking about a civil war, but he doesn't think it will happen.

“I think that's an exaggeration because 60 percent of the middle class is not as committed as either side,” he explains, “but I think in 10 years we're going to end up going one way or the other as a country.”

And for our country, that direction should be right.

“There are two things to keep in mind. One, we're going to vote in early November and we have a choice. We might not like Donald Trump backing away from his strong pro-life positions, but in his place we have a radical, pro-abortion Democratic Party,” Reno said.

“So I have no qualms or compunctions about voting for Donald Trump because I believe a Donald Trump administration is more likely to protect lives than a Democratic administration,” he continues.

“The second thing is that we can work at the state level, at the local level, and continue to support pro-life politicians and pull them up through the system,” he added.
