Trump spokesman says Haley will ‘kiss ass when she quits’

Trump campaign spokesman Stephen Chan predicted on Tuesday that Nikki Haley would “kiss” former President Trump once she “resigns” from the presidential race.

Haley gave a defiant speech Tuesday saying she would not withdraw from the Republican primary, despite concerns about her chances of defeating Trump as the Republican nominee. Haley said he plans to stay in the race no matter the outcome in Saturday’s primary in his home state of South Carolina.

“I don’t think it’s necessary to kiss the ring,” Haley said in a speech. “And I’m not afraid of President Trump’s retaliation. I’m not asking him for anything.”

But Chung said he would likely support Trump when the time was right.

“She’s going to bend down and kiss his ass when she quits, like she always does,” he said. I wrote to Xformerly Twitter.

As the Republican field fades, Haley has stepped up her attacks on Trump, citing his personality and personal struggles. She has repeatedly said there will be “chaos” after President Trump and that new, young conservatives are needed to lead the country.

She also vehemently denied rumors that she was interested in serving as President Trump’s vice president, further reinforcing that idea on Tuesday. Trump himself has downplayed the rumors.

According to national polls, Trump has a wide lead over Haley in the race for the Republican nomination. Haley trails Trump by 63 points and trails Trump by 31 points in South Carolina, according to Hill/Decision Desk polling averages.
