Trump Administration Partners with Turning Point USA for Civic Education

On Wednesday, the Trump administration announced a collaboration with Turning Point USA and over 40 other organizations aimed at enhancing civic education among young individuals.

The American 250 Civics Education Coalition includes conservative entities such as PragerU, Hillsdale College, Moms for Liberty, and the America First Policy Institute.

Dubbed a “groundbreaking initiative,” this effort seeks to renew patriotism, improve civic knowledge, and promote an understanding of fundamental American principles in schools nationwide. It coincided with Constitutional Day, with plans to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary next year.

Led by Education Secretary Linda E. McMahon, the initiative aspires to spark discussions about citizenship and American values. McMahon emphasized that it’s crucial for young Americans to grasp their history and values.

“As we approach 250 years since our founding, this coalition embodies our commitment to ensuring citizens have the knowledge to appreciate the beauty of our country and engage meaningfully in its future,” she stated.

Turning Point USA has vowed to further its mission of fostering a strong educational foundation centered on values. According to Dr. Hutz H. Hertzberg, Chief Education Officer of Turning Point Education, the organization is focused on advancing a noble, God-centered education for students across the nation.

This announcement comes amidst a backdrop of tragic events, as the organization has recently been in the news following the assassination of founder Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University. In response to this incident, Kirk’s wife, Erika, has been appointed as the new CEO and chair of the board for Turning Point USA.

Since the assassination, the organization claims to have received over 60,000 new applications to start branches in high schools and universities.

In a related note, recent polling from Gallup highlights a decline in American pride among the populace.
