Trump Signals Possible 2028 Run During Georgia Speech

During a recent speech in Georgia, President Donald Trump playfully teased his audience about a potential fourth presidential run, all while poking fun at both his political rivals and the media.

At Wheeler High School in Marietta, Trump opened with a confident statement: “Thank you very much, everyone. This is a special place. I’m here to announce my candidacy,” pausing dramatically afterward.

However, after the crowd erupted in cheers, he quickly added, “I’m just kidding.”

While he’s hinting at a third term, Trump has actually been using various tactics to entertain his political opponents, including sporting a “Trump 2028” hat at the White House.

Interestingly, during a Cabinet meeting last December, he stated he wouldn’t be the Republican nominee for 2028, suggesting that the ticket could feature individuals from the current Cabinet. “The problem is [Democrats]… I want to oppose their policies without diving into what they are because I don’t want them to change; it’s going to be someone else… probably someone at this table,” he remarked, seemingly eyeing Vice President J.D. Vance.

He continued, mentioning, “There could be a few people sitting at this table running with me, but I want them to win because we’ve done a great job for this country and I want that to continue.”

These comments came just weeks after he mentioned on Air Force One that Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio would create an “unstoppable” ticket if they ran in 2028.

Trump lauded both Vance and Rubio, saying, “JD, obviously the vice president is great,” to which Rubio nodded in agreement. “Marco is great… I don’t know if there’s anyone against those two. If they form a group, I think it’s unstoppable. I truly believe that is the case,” he asserted.

Last month, he reiterated his interest in a potential Vance and Rubio ticket during an interview on Pod Force One. “Well, I like them both, and I like them together. It would be great. I don’t know how we would beat them if they were together. It would be a great team. JD and Marco would be a great team,” he said.
