Trump Critiques Health Insurance System

On Tuesday, former President Donald Trump took to Truth Social to criticize insurance companies, emphasizing that he believes the best approach to health care is to provide direct financial assistance to individuals.

He was quite expressive, using all caps for emphasis. Trump stated, “The only health care that I support or approve of is to send that money directly to the people. Nothing goes to the big, super-rich insurance companies that have made trillions of dollars and have been milking America for long enough. The people will be forgiven. Negotiate and give the people better insurance themselves.”

Experts Question Trump’s Health Care Proposal

He urged Congress to focus on this initiative, declaring, “Congress, don’t waste your time and energy on other things. This is the only way to get great health care in America!!! Let’s do it now.”

Trump’s recent comments mirror earlier statements he made this month. In another Truth Social post, he expressed, “I encourage Senate Republicans to save the poor health care provided by Obamacare by sending hundreds of billions of dollars, currently going to money-siphoning insurance companies, directly to Americans so they can buy better health care for themselves and have money left over.”

He added that the funds should be redirected from “big bad insurance companies” to individuals, aiming to repeal what he referred to as “the world’s worst health insurance per dollar spent.”

Senator Rick Scott (R-Fla.) responded positively, stating, “I totally agree, Mr. President! I’m writing a bill right now. We must stop taxpayer money from going to insurance companies and instead give it directly to Americans in HSA-style accounts so they can buy the health care they want. This will increase competition and lower costs.”

In another post, Trump reiterated his stance, insisting that the funds currently allocated to Democrat-supported insurance companies should be redirected to the people. He asserted, “That money must go directly to the people now and get the ‘fat cat’ insurance companies out of our corrupt healthcare system. People can buy their own, much better insurance for much less money, saving themselves an absolute fortune!!!”
