Trump Critiques Mayoral Candidate Janeese Lewis George

President Donald Trump has come out strongly against Janeese Lewis George, the Democratic candidate for mayor, suggesting that even if he were to meet with her, he wouldn’t allow the city to be “destroyed by a communist” should she win the election in Washington, D.C.

Lewis George, who identifies as a Democratic Socialist, won the Democratic primary on June 19 and appears poised to take the mayoral seat in the overwhelmingly Democratic district following the general election in November.

On Sunday, Trump posted on Truth Social: “Janeese Lewis George, the Communist who is almost certainly going to be elected Mayor of Washington, D.C., has stated that she wants to empty the prisons, make D.C. a Sanctuary City, oppose ICE, welcome Criminal Illegal Aliens back into our beloved Capital, resist Anti-Crime Crackdowns, Defund the Police, continue and expand Cashless Bail, and so many other Capital destroying ‘things.’”

He continued, “In the end, it will never work out, nor will I let it even have a chance because I have worked too hard to make Washington, D.C., the Envy of the World, with almost No Crime, and a Beautification process that has been second to none. I will meet with Janeese Lewis George, but must forewarn everyone that Washington, D.C., is again a Safe and Prestigious Community. Many people, including myself, have worked long and hard to get it there, and we will not let it be destroyed by a Communist adherent who has no intention to MAKE WASHINGTON GREAT AGAIN!”

Lewis George’s platform focuses on lowering housing and childcare costs, among other social initiatives. She has also stated plans to prevent police from collaborating with ICE if elected, as per her campaign promises.

Her campaign website emphasizes, “DC is under attack and we need leaders that stand up and fight back, not shrink in the face of injustice.”

Additionally, if she assumes office, a major focus would involve collaborating “with grassroots organizations and leaders in DC and across the country to build a movement for Statehood rooted in racial and economic justice,” according to her campaign.
