During a recent broadcast of Pod Force One, Chinese leader Xi Jinping expressed significant respect for President Trump and his accomplishments in his second term.
“Currently, you have the most successful country in the world,” Trump proudly stated in his interview with Miranda Devine.
Trump remarked on his past interactions with Xi, saying, “Everyone, including President Xi—I was with him in China—he has respect for us.” This was about his visit to Beijing last month.
Throughout his three-day stay in China, Trump heaped praise on Xi, indicating the Chinese leader matched his enthusiasm during their private discussions.
Reflecting on the summit, Trump described the visit as “great,” adding, “President Xi has great respect for what I did. He said, ‘You did it very quickly. I’ve never seen anything like this.'” He emphasized his belief that he turned around a nation in crisis, claiming, “I made us the hottest country in the world.”
These remarks resonate with a post Trump shared on Truth Social at the trip’s outset, where Xi noted his perception of the U.S. as a “nation in decline” under the Biden administration.
“Two years ago, we were indeed a country in decline. I completely agree with President Xi on that! But now, America is the hottest country in the world, and I hope our relationship with China will be stronger and better than ever!” Trump had written last month.
When Devine inquired about his desired legacy, Trump simply stated, “I took this country and made it great again.”
