On the first day of his second administration, President Donald Trump revoked former national security adviser John Bolton's security clearance over the publication of a revealing memoir detailing his time in the Trump administration.
President Trump signed the following executive order Monday night. read:
National security is also compromised by the release of classified information. Former national security adviser John R. Bolton published his memoir for financial gain after he was fired from the White House in 2019. The book was full of confidential information obtained during the administration. The memoir's reckless handling of classified information undermined the ability of future presidents to seek and obtain candid advice from their staff on matters of national security. Publication also created a significant risk that confidential information would be made publicly available.
To correct this abuse of public trust, this order directs the revocation of current or existing security clearances held by: (i) A former intelligence official who engaged in misleading and inappropriate political coordination with the 2020 Biden presidential campaign. (ii) John R. Bolton.
President Trump also revoked the security clearances of 51 former intelligence officials who signed a letter alleging that Hunter Biden's laptop was Russian disinformation, days before the 2020 presidential election. It was used as a justification to suppress reporting on it.
Bolton was President Trump's third national security adviser, following Gen. Mike Flynn (retired) and Lt. Gen. McMaster (retired).

He was known for his hawkish views, but Trump said he liked having foreign officials in the same room because he feared them.
Flynn called the executive order “unusual.”
Unconventional Executive Order… Fake Russian Collusion Bullshit All 51 people who signed the Hunter Biden letter and former NSA John Bolton (for leaking inappropriate classified information) will be disqualified and potentially lose their livelihoods.
