Trump Calls for Raskin’s Expulsion from Congress

President Donald Trump urged Congress on Thursday to remove Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.), claiming that Maryland Democrats have persistently aimed to impeach him.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump criticized Raskin for his involvement in past impeachment efforts during Trump’s first term and suggested that Raskin would try to do it again. He voiced support for the idea of expelling Raskin, asserting that the congressman was damaging the nation with his actions.

“If Biden doesn’t grant clemency, he’d be in jail right now! There should be consequences for people like this who engage in bad behavior yet evade accountability for their illegal or unethical actions, ultimately hurting our country,” Trump stated. “I agree with Mark Levin when he says, ‘Kick out Bam.’ Congress should not tolerate individuals who struggle with Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) and consistently cast disparaging votes.”

“Jamie Raskin, a failure in life, squandered our resources—money, time, effort—while obsessively pushing to impeach me during my first term, only to fail miserable. He will undoubtedly attempt impeachment again,” Trump remarked.

He also targeted Rep. Al Green (D-Texas), who is spearheading another impeachment initiative against him. Trump claimed that Green had recently suffered a significant electoral defeat, suggesting that Green was more skilled than Raskin.

“Al Green just got trounced in a landslide by a lesser-known candidate, who, in my view, had more talent than Raskin. He was part of a committee of political insiders that was undermined, just as he has been rebuffed on impeachment and various other issues,” Trump shared.

Trump’s comments came after conservative commentator Mark Levin mentioned that House Republicans would start the process of expelling Raskin, alleging that the Maryland Democrat had consistently employed impeachment and other constitutional methods to target Trump and disrupt electoral integrity.

“Jamie Raskin is already leading efforts to impeach the president if the Democrats regain control of the House. He has been at the forefront of the last two presidential impeachments, previously called for Trump’s resignation, and has manipulated the 14th Amendment to prevent Trump from voting. He objected to Trump’s electoral votes in the first election and was part of the Pelosi January 6th Committee, which distorted the facts, especially before Republicans took charge of the House,” Levin wrote.
