Trump Suggests US Might Provide Air Support to Ukraine in Peace Agreement

Trump Discusses Potential Air Support for Ukraine

President Trump mentioned in an interview that the U.S. might consider offering air support to Ukraine as part of a peace agreement with Russia.

On Monday, he met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in the Oval Office, where they talked about terms for peace between Ukraine and Russia. While he didn’t dismiss the idea of deploying U.S. ground troops, Trump suggested, just the day after, that air support could be a viable option.

During the conversation, Fox host Lawrence Jones asked Trump if world leaders seemed aligned with him. Trump responded, noting the capability and commitment of the leaders in question, highlighting a geographical and operational separation between the U.S. and those nations.

Trump acknowledged the specific security concerns that these leaders face, emphasizing their willingness to engage more directly on the ground, while the U.S. might offer aerial support.

Zelensky was also present with other European leaders at the White House to discuss peace and reconciliation efforts concerning the ongoing conflict. Ahead of the meeting, Trump suggested that Ukraine might need to reconsider its aspirations for NATO membership and take control of Crimea.

After the discussions, Trump shared on his social media platform that he had spoken with Russian President Vladimir Putin about arranging a future meeting with Zelensky.

He remarked on the security guarantees proposed for Ukraine by various European nations, noting that these were being coordinated with U.S. input, and expressed optimism about the potential for peace between Russia and Ukraine.
