Trump supports Moore before the U.S. Senate primary

Trump Endorses Barry Moore for Senate in Alabama

On Monday night, President Donald Trump reaffirmed his support for U.S. Representative Barry Moore’s bid for a Senate seat during a conference call held just before Tuesday’s primary. This last-minute endorsement comes as three Republican candidates compete for the position left vacant by Senator Tommy Tuberville, who is running for governor of Alabama.

Moore (R-Ala.) is one of the frontrunners in what has become a competitive Senate primary, with Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall and former Navy SEAL Jared Hudson also in the mix, according to recent polling data.

“He is a true America First patriot who has been with me from the start. As your next senator, Barry will keep fighting to strengthen our economy, promote the beauty of what’s Made in America, defend our energy independence, secure our borders, combat immigration-related crime, uphold law and order, support our veterans, safeguard our elections, and protect the Second Amendment, which often comes under attack,” Trump stated in a five-minute address. Moore endorsed Trump in 2015 and has consistently supported his policies while serving in Congress.

“I love you, and given my six wins and no losses, including primaries, I think you love me too. We won’t lose in Alabama,” he added, referencing past election outcomes in the state.

Moore’s campaign has highlighted Trump’s endorsement in several advertisements since his announcement in January. Despite the prominent backing, this year’s runoff elections are expected to be significant. The outcomes will serve as a crucial indicator of Trump’s influence in this staunchly Republican state during his second term.

At a recent rally, Moore praised Trump, referring to him as “my favorite president” and calling him “one of the greatest presidents of all time” in his brief comments.

“Our campaign is wrapping up on a positive note, and there’s no better way to conclude it than by supporting President Trump, who started it all,” Moore said.
