Trump Backs Mike Lindell for Minnesota Governor
Former President Donald Trump has given a strong endorsement to Mike Lindell, the founder and CEO of My Pillow, in his campaign for Minnesota governor, while criticizing the current Democratic leader.
With ongoing fraud allegations swirling in Minnesota, Governor Tim Walz (D-Minn.)—who was a running mate to Kamala Harris during the 2020 campaign—has declared he will not pursue a third term in office.
As early voting kicks off in what is recognized as a pivotal state, it’s noteworthy that Minnesota has not had a Republican governor in more than ten years, with primaries scheduled for August 11.
“Mike Lindell, the ‘Pillow Man,’ one of America’s best and most dedicated Patriots, is running to be the GOVERNOR OF MINNESOTA, replacing one of the worst governors in U.S. history,” Trump stated on Truth Social. He confidently added that if Lindell wins, it would be “SPECTACULAR!!!”
Lindell’s company, My Pillow, was launched in 2004 and gained widespread recognition through its infomercials. In recent years, he has also started a streaming service known as LindellTV.
During an interview on WCCO CBS News Minnesota, Lindell expressed his surprise at Trump’s backing.
“This is so amazing. I’m really excited,” he shared regarding the endorsement. “It was just so thrilling.”
While he appreciates the endorsement, Lindell emphasized that he intends to follow what he believes is right, rather than strictly aligning with Trump’s approach.
“Just because the president endorsed me doesn’t mean I’m going to mimic everything he would do. No way. I’m going to follow my own judgment,” he asserted.
Trump also underscored Lindell’s commitment to ensuring election integrity in Minnesota.
“He truly loves Minnesota, just as I do, and wants to redeem it from disarray and embarrassment. He can do it! No one has sacrificed more than Mike Lindell for our country, especially regarding Election Integrity. He deserves all the accolades,” the former president stated.
In addition to supporting Lindell, Trump criticized leading Democratic candidate, Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.), suggesting she mirrors the failings of Walz.
“Amy Klobuchar, the not-so-respected Senator from Minnesota, is vying for the Governor’s seat to succeed the current Corrupt and Incompetent Tim Walz,” Trump posted later.
“Having gotten to know Klobuchar over time, I find her to be just as incompetent as Walz, and likely equally corrupt, considering she was a prominent official in Minnesota and should have known what was happening,” he continued.
He raised doubts over the integrity of elections in Minnesota, claiming Republicans would stand a better chance if the voting process were secure.
“If Minnesota elections weren’t RIGGED, any Republican could win. But they are, which is why no Republican has triumphed there since Richard Nixon. I felt I won it three times, only to face disappointment. Vote for Mike Lindell for Governor, who has my Complete and Total Endorsement, and let’s move past these Corrupt Democrats like Amy Klobuchar. MAKE MINNESOTA GREAT AGAIN!” he concluded.
Klobuchar and Lindell are both set to face a variety of challengers in their respective quests as they seek nominations from their parties in anticipation of the November election.
