Trump Backs AG Bondy Over Epstein Files

President Donald Trump expressed his support for Attorney General Pam Bondy, stating that files related to convicted sexual offender Jeffrey Epstein were handled “very well.” During a press conference on Tuesday, Trump mentioned that Bondy provided him with a “very quick briefing” regarding documents released by the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the FBI. He seemed to imply these files connected to former FBI director James Comey and former President Barack Obama, as reported by ABC News.

Trump’s comments came on the heels of findings from the DOJ and FBI, which indicated a lack of evidence for any client list concerning Epstein. They also released information about their investigation into Epstein’s suicide.

In his remarks, Trump noted, “Anything you think you can trust, she should be freed.” He further elaborated, saying, “Bondy gave us a very simple briefing. I think these files included elements from Comey regarding reliability, as well as those linked to Obama and Biden. We’ve seen these patterns over the years, not to mention the ongoing discussions of Russian hoaxes.”

Following the release of the memo, Bondy faced questions during a Cabinet meeting about Epstein’s case and the unexplained moment captured on prison tape the night of his death.

Trump appeared frustrated with reporters asking about Epstein, pointing out that more pressing issues were happening, such as the catastrophic flooding in Texas. “I can’t believe you’re asking about Epstein at a time like this,” he remarked, “when there are significant events unfolding in Texas.” His tone suggested a need to focus on more urgent matters.

In a previous interview with Fox News, Bondy clarified her remarks regarding Epstein’s “client list.” She indicated that her comments were about reviewing files associated with Epstein. “When I discussed the client list, I meant sitting at my desk to review the files. There are also troubling details about child pornography linked to Epstein that will never be publicly released,” she added.

Bondy emphasized the inconclusive nature of the video related to Epstein’s death while asserting that prior evidence indicated suicide. Additionally, Trump showed his support for Bondy in a comment regarding her confidence in how Epstein’s case files have been managed.
