President Donald Trump is rallying support for Texas Republican Senate candidate, Attorney General Ken Paxton, while critiquing his Democratic opponent, James Talarico.
During his first rally in Corpus Christi, Trump highlighted Republican backing for the oil industry, claiming that Talarico’s policies threaten Texas’s wealth. He referenced Talarico’s past statement from 2020, suggesting that Texas’s oil and gas sector “is not gonna last.”
Trump declared, “Our policy has always been drill, baby, drill— and man, are we drilling now! But if Texas elects communist James Talafreako, our wealth will just vanish.” He accused Talarico of wanting to dismantle the oil and gas industry and taking aim at capitalism itself.
He expressed skepticism about green energy, noting its failures in places like Germany. “It’s always bad when you pay top dollar for something that doesn’t work. Talafreako will kill millions of Texas jobs,” Trump continued. In contrast, he praised Paxton for acting in the interest of Texans and their jobs.
Encouraging the crowd, Trump said, “Ken Paxton has always put Texas first.” He insisted that together with Paxton, Senator Ted Cruz, and other Republicans, they would make Texas and the nation prosperous.
At one point, Trump brought Paxton on stage. Paxton thanked Trump for traveling the country to support Republican candidates, urging Texans to vote. “We are going to win. Get your friends and family out to vote,” he said.
Trump also invited Secretary of State Marco Rubio to address the crowd, who expressed his pride in serving “the greatest country” and the president.
Later, at a rally in Lubbock, Trump again criticized Talarico, stressing the importance of preventing such political choices for the country. He referred to Talarico’s attendance at purportedly inappropriate events and his controversial remarks, insinuating absurd claims about Jesus promoting sex changes.
Paxton again shared his gratitude to Trump on stage, expressing appreciation for Trump’s effort in making America great again and working tirelessly during the midterms.
