Trump Supports Rep. Tom Tiffany for Governor of Wisconsin

Trump Endorses Tom Tiffany for Wisconsin Governor

Former President Donald Trump has thrown his weight behind Congressman Tom Tiffany in the upcoming Wisconsin gubernatorial race.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump described Tiffany as a “highly respected America’s First Congressman,” expressing his full support for Tiffany’s campaign, saying, “He will never let you down!” Trump emphasized Tiffany’s loyalty, calling him a strong ally and an early supporter in past congressional elections.

Trump also highlighted Tiffany’s diverse background, noting his journey from businessman and farmer to state representative and Congressman. He referred to Tiffany as “a proven leader dedicated to serving his community.” The former president shared his personal connection to Wisconsin, stating, “Wisconsin is a very special place to me because we won the presidential election exactly one year ago on November 5, 2024!”

“As Governor-elect, Tom will continue to work tirelessly to grow the economy, cut taxes and regulations, promote Made in the USA, defend America’s energy advantage, keep our borders secure, stop immigrant crime, ensure law and order, strengthen our brave military and veterans, promote election integrity, defend Wisconsin’s working men and women, and protect us, who are always under siege,” Trump commented.

Tiffany officially launched his campaign for the 2026 gubernatorial election, set for September, after incumbent Democratic Governor Tony Evers announced he would not seek reelection. In his campaign video, Tiffany criticized Democratic policies, claiming they undermine Wisconsin values and vowed to “wipe out the cows” in Madison. His platform includes freezing property taxes, restricting foreign ownership of agricultural land, especially by China, and maintaining biological distinctions in sports and legal matters.

In December 2025, Tiffany introduced the Community Consent for Refugee Admissions (CARE) Act, which aimed to empower state and local governments to veto federal refugee resettlement programs. Tiffany remarked, “No community should be blindsided or have limited resources because of the federal government’s decision to resettle refugees.” This bill, reflecting an executive order from Trump’s first term, was co-sponsored by several Republican representatives.

Around the same time, Tiffany criticized Governor Evers for not cooperating with federal requests to audit the state’s welfare rolls for possible fraud, particularly concerning noncitizens. He stated, “Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers won’t provide that data, and there’s a reason he won’t provide it, because he knows there are people out there who shouldn’t be there.” Tiffany supported efforts by USDA Secretary Brooke Rollins to verify eligibility for SNAP benefits, citing fraud cases nationwide and suggesting that Wisconsin could be enabling similar issues by withholding data.

As of October 2025, a public opinion poll indicated that Tiffany led among declared and potential Republican candidates with 30% support, according to Platform Communications. On the Democratic front, Mandela Burns was in the lead with 16%. The survey also suggested a slight general Republican advantage in the state, with nearly half of voters identifying with the MAGA movement.
