Trump Endorses Ramaswamy for Ohio Governor

Former President Donald Trump has backed Vivek Ramaswamy in his bid to become the governor of Ohio, praising him as “someone special” and a “very good person” who has a deep love for the country.

In a post on “Society of Truth,” Trump expressed that, if elected, Ramaswamy would “fight tirelessly” to reduce taxes and regulations, grow the economy, and secure the southern border.

“Vivek Ramaswamy will be a great governor for Ohio and I have my full support. He will never let you down!” Trump declared.

Trump’s message continued with a reflection on Ramaswamy’s qualifications:

Vivek Ramaswamy is running for governor in Ohio, a state I hold dear, having won there in 2016, 2020, and 2024.

I know Vivek well. He’s special; young, strong, and smart. Plus, he’s genuinely nice and truly cares about our country. As Governor-elect, he’ll work hard to boost the economy, reduce taxes and regulations, promote American-made products, maintain our energy advantage, protect our secure borders, ensure safety, reduce immigration-related crime, strengthen our military and support veterans, uphold law and order, champion election integrity, and defend the Second Amendment, which is always under threat.

Ramaswamy, who was a Republican hopeful for the 2024 presidential race, officially declared his candidacy for the 2026 Ohio gubernatorial election back in February.

After submitting his papers, he shared his aspirations for the governorship, stating he intends to “lead Ohio to greatness.”

“We need a leader who will restore faith in Ohio. Today, I am honored to announce my candidacy for governor of a great state in the heart of the greatest nation,” Ramaswamy remarked at the announcement. “This is the state where I was born and raised, the state where my wife Apoorva and I are raising our two sons, and the state poised for a bright future ahead.”

Ramaswamy has previously received Trump’s endorsement and also has the support of the Ohio Republican Party.
