Trump Takes 1-Point Lead over Kamala in Quinnipiac Poll; 2-Point Swing Since August

Nationally, President Donald Trump holds a one-point lead in the left-leaning Quinnipiac University poll, within the margin of error, and his approval rating has risen by two points since late August and since the presidential debates.

Quinnipiac explained: press release:

With 41 days until Election Day, the presidential race remains very close, with former President Donald Trump garnering the support of 48 percent of likely voters, Vice President Kamala Harris garnering 47 percent, and Green Party candidate Jill Stein and Libertarian Party candidate Chase Oliver garnering 1 percent each, according to a national poll of likely voters released today by Quinnipiac University.

A Quinnipiac University poll taken on August 29 after the Democratic National Convention showed the presidential race was so close it was hard to predict: Harris received 49% of the support, Trump 47%, and Stein and Oliver 1% each.

In a hypothetical two-way race between Harris and Trump, Trump would receive 48 percent of the vote and Harris would also receive 48 percent of the vote.

According to the Q-poll, Harris' approval rating dropped from 75% to 70% among Democrats but rose from 68% to 71% among Republicans. Nearly two-thirds of voters, 64%, want to see another Trump-Harris debate.

According to According to RealClearPolitics, the Quinnipiac University poll is the first national poll to show Trump in the lead since a Sept. 19 Rasmussen Reports poll. Other polls have shown Harris with a slight lead or a tie.
