Trump and Xi Discuss Trade and Future Meetings
President Donald Trump recently had a conversation with Chinese President Xi Jinping. In a post on Truth Social, Trump mentioned that their discussion was quite positive.
Topics included trade relations, the conflict in Ukraine, and plans for a potential trip to Beijing in the spring. Trump expressed satisfaction with the outcomes of their dialogue.
“I just had a very good phone call with President Xi of China. We discussed several topics including Ukraine/Russia, fentanyl, soybeans, and more. We’ve secured significant agreements beneficial to our farmers, and I believe the prospects are looking even better.”
“President Xi extended an invitation for me to visit Beijing in April, which I gladly accepted. I also informed him of my upcoming state visit to the U.S. at the year’s end. It’s crucial for us to communicate often, and I’m looking forward to it. Thanks for the attention to these matters!”
This phone call followed their meeting in South Korea last month, where they reached agreements on tariffs, U.S. soybean purchases, and measures to limit the distribution of fentanyl-related chemicals.
