Former President Donald Trump spoke candidly with voters at Knockout Barber Shop in the Bronx and answered questions from local residents struggling with financial hardship and mounting expenses in an exclusive episode of “Fox & Friends.”
Flanked by Fox News' Lawrence Jones and surrounded by visitors wearing “Make Barbers Great Again” shirts, Trump cited concerns about high taxes and high rents and expressed concerns about a second term. He revealed what he would do if he was recognized.
“What do you feel like you could do more of now that you feel you couldn't do in your first term?” one voter asked.
President Trump responded, “It's all about talent. We have to have the right people.''
He reflected on his outsider status in relation to the group, emphasizing that his roots are firmly planted in New York City rather than D.C.

“I've been to Washington 17 times in my life, so I wasn't a Washingtonian. I was a New Yorker. I mean, I was here as a developer, so when I went to Washington, all of a sudden, I was white. I was standing across from House's Lincoln bedroom and I said, “Hey, this is really cool.” But I actually didn't know much about it. [people]So I had to rely on people to recommend people to run the agency…and I still did well. ”
He collected himself after a moment and said, “But if I had to do it again, there were some guys I wouldn't have used. Now I've been there for four years, and I'll be there for another four years.'' For me, it only works if you have the right people. ”
With the election just over two weeks away, President Trump confidently said he has “the best people in place” to fill roles in his administration, preparing for a second term if he defeats Vice President Harris. ' he claimed.
“We will do a great job,” he vowed.

Throughout the debate, Mr. Trump repeatedly pointed to his connection to everyday voters, suggesting that despite his wealth and fame, they had something in common.
“You guys are just like me. Same thing. We were born the same way. I grew up in Queens. I had a great father, I had a father, he was a great man. It was tough, but [had] He has a really big heart, he works in construction, he works in real estate, and I learned a lot from him. He was great, but I know you guys better than I know you. ”
The former president responded to a series of questions related to other topics, including the prospect of eliminating the federal income tax.
“There is a way,” President Trump said.
“Back in the old days when we were smart, back in the 1890s when we were a smart country, and all this when this country was the richest it has ever been, we had all the tariffs and no income taxes.

“Now we have income taxes and we have people dying. They pay taxes, but they don't have the money to pay taxes. In the old days…we had a lot of money, so they established Committee, Blue Ribbon Committee, [on] How to use our wealth. We had no idea how to spend so much money. Then we went to the income tax system and the rest is kind of history. But no, there is a way. ”
