Trump Kicks Off Great American State Fair

President Donald Trump expressed enthusiasm for the impressive turnout at his rally marking the start of the Great American State Fair. This event, running for 16 days on the National Mall, commemorates the 250th anniversary of American independence.

During his speech on Wednesday evening, he shared images of the crowd on his Truth Social platform the next day.

“The crowd was incredible last night, packed to the brim — at least 45,000 people were there, with a huge television and online audience,” Trump remarked. “I wish we could have a larger area, which we’ll manage on July 4th when I speak again. The flyovers and music were fantastic. Everybody stayed right until the end because they loved hearing about a truly successful America. See you again on July 4th!”

Much of his speech focused on highlighting the economic achievements from his second term—touching on job creation, tax cuts, and efforts to reduce regulations.

“America’s 250th year is set for an economic boom like no other nation has ever witnessed,” he proclaimed.

He went on to say, “In my first 11 months, we secured commitments for $19.1 trillion in new investments worldwide, and they’re building factories and plants all over the country. The stock market has reached 73 all-time record highs since the election, and more Americans are employed than at any point in history.”

Last year on Independence Day, Trump signed the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which significantly lowered federal taxes on tips, overtime, and social security for seniors, while also making auto loans entirely tax-deductible for vehicles made in the U.S. He likened these achievements to the founders’ principle of “no tax on tea.”

He also took pride in his administration’s safety and crime reduction measures.

“Our country is strong again, wealthy again, and safe again,” he stated.

“When we took office in January 2025, we faced the worst and most insecure border in history; we’ve swiftly turned it into the strongest border ever. For the past 13 months, we’ve not admitted any illegal aliens into the United States,” he added, receiving applause. “We’re removing dangerous criminals and gang members by the thousands.”

In addition to his safety initiatives, President Trump has prioritized restoring monuments in the capital, formalizing this with executive orders 14252 and 14344.

He noted that 22 fountains have been restored so far, including one at Union Station that had been defaced with graffiti during the previous administration.

Recently, he also mentioned ongoing restoration of the Arts of War sculptures near the Lincoln Memorial, as well as plans to restore the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool, which had been vandalized.

The Great American State Fair features themed days; for example, Friday’s theme is “Land & Prosperity,” celebrating agriculture and ranching. July 4th will highlight the Semiquincentennial with live performances and fireworks over the capital.
