Trump to Speak at Rescheduled White House Correspondents’ Dinner
President Donald Trump is set to return to the spotlight at the rescheduled White House Correspondents’ Dinner this Friday. This event comes nearly three months after armed individuals disrupted the gathering in what was described as an assassination attempt against him.
The White House has confirmed the list of officials who will attend the dinner at the Waldorf Astoria in Washington, D.C. Although numerous members of the Trump administration plan to be there, First Lady Melania Trump, Vice President J.D. Vance, and Secretary of State Marco Rubio will be absent due to prior obligations.

In light of the recent incident, journalists are urging the White House Correspondents’ Association to assert its role and “speak truth to power,” especially with Trump attending.
Traditionally held at the Washington Hilton, this year’s dinner will take place at the Waldorf Astoria. The previous banquet was interrupted by an armed assailant who attempted to harm the president.
Jiang Weijia, president of the White House Correspondents Association, noted that the event will be more intimate this year. Upon announcing the reschedule, Jiang emphasized that the dinner serves as a declaration against violence and a commitment to uphold a free press that will not be silenced.
