Trump to announce VP pick at Republican convention

Former President Trump is scheduled to announce his running mate at the Republican National Convention in July, as attention grows over which Republican candidate he will choose as his running mate in the 2024 presidential election.

North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum (R-North Dakota), Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), Sen. Tim Scott (R-North Carolina) and Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio) have all reportedly received investigation requests from the Trump campaign in recent days.

But Trump was just found guilty of 34 counts of falsifying business records in a historic trial in New York and is due to be sentenced on July 11, just four days before the party convention begins.

The Republican National Committee (RNC) said it was preparing for the possibility that the former president, who is the party’s presumptive nominee, would be jailed during the party’s convention.
