Former President Trump will participate in a Fox News town hall featuring only female voters next week, seeking to expand his appeal to a group he has consistently struggled to win over.
The event will be recorded next Tuesday in Cumming, Georgia, and will be broadcast on Fox News Wednesday morning. Harris Faulkner, who has interviewed President Trump many times, will be the moderator, and the audience will be limited to women.
“Women make up the largest group of registered and active voters in the United States, and it is paramount that women voters understand where presidential candidates stand on the issues that matter most to them,” Faulkner said in a statement. “I'm looking forward to it,'' he said. The idea is to provide viewers with an opportunity to learn more about where former President Trump stands on these topics. ”
Fox News invited Vice President Harris to a similar event, the station said.
Harris agreed to appear at a live CNN town hall on Oct. 23 after President Trump declined an invitation to participate in the vice presidential debate that day.
While Trump has shown strength with male voters, polls show the former president lags far behind Harris among female voters. President Trump has repeatedly ignored the possibility that his harsh comments and his role on the Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade could damage his standing among women.
