Trump to Attend Charlie Kirk’s Funeral

President Donald Trump announced on Friday that he will be attending the funeral of Charlie Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA.

While speaking live on Fox and Friends from New York City, Trump shared his intentions to honor Kirk. When host Ainhardt mentioned Trump’s upcoming trip to the UK to meet King Charles next week, the president emphasized that he would also be present for Kirk’s funeral.

“I’ll also go to funerals for a great gentleman named Charlie Kirk. He should be in front of people. He loved doing it. He was very good,” Trump remarked.

Trump praised Kirk’s significant influence on the 2024 presidential election, stating, “I mean, he had a huge impact on the election. I’ve won so many young voters, and Republicans never approached anything. I ruled with the young people, and that’s never happened before.”

He further shared that his eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., had expressed to him that Kirk was like another son. “Don told me, ‘He’s like a son to you,'” Trump recounted.

“Charlie was involved just like he did 11 years ago. He’s a great guy, but he didn’t go to college. He actually started college. He would have done very well in college, but he was great,” Trump reflected. He admired Kirk for building a movement during his youth, remarking that he had never witnessed such a strong connection between a young person and a leader like Kirk.

“I’ve never seen a young person or group go to one person like they did to Charlie,” he said. “No one on the left can compete with his crowd.” Trump elaborated, noting the impressive attendance at Kirk’s events, with thousands showing up to support him.

Additionally, Trump recounted a story about introducing his son Barron to Kirk at Barron’s request. “I set up lunch with him and Charlie. He came back, he said, ‘That guy is amazing, daddy! That guy is amazing!’ You know, it was cute. Charlie cast a spell on the kids,” Trump added.
