Trump to deliver ‘Liberation Day’ announcement from Rose Garden flanked by Cabinet members

President Donald Trump will announce the “liberation day” Wednesday afternoon, focusing on tariffs from Rose Garden.

Trump heads to the White House Rose Garden at 4pm Wednesday, where members of his cabinet join in and reveal his highly anticipated tariff plan aimed at freeing the United States from decades of dependence on goods made overseas.

“On Wednesday, it will be America's liberation day as President Trump proudly dubbed it,” White House press chief Carolyn Leavitt told media members on Monday.

“The Cabinet is here for this event. This will be the administration's first Rose Garden event. …The President announces a tariff plan that will roll back the unfair trade practices that have torn our nation apart for decades.”

Trump is “always standing up for good negotiations,” the White House says, “Liberation Day” tariffs on April 2nd will be looming

Trump was promoted to America's “liberation day” on April 2, and he announces return tariffs for foreign countries exporting goods to Trump and his administration, and his administration is relatively nervous about the details of the tariff plan.

“I I think it will bring a lot of wealth back to our country and a huge amount of wealth back to our country, “Trump told the media on Monday.

The Trump administration argues that by placing tariffs on countries that produce overseas goods, it encourages industries to establish manufacturing and production operations in US soil to avoid additional taxes. The administration says tariffs will lead to increased employment available to U.S. workers as foreign companies set up stores in the US.

The EU is threatening “solid measures” as Trump's tariff deadlines approach

White House trade adviser Peter Navarro said in an interview with Fox News Sunday over the weekend that the new tariffs would generate $600 billion a year in the US, or $6 trillion in the next $10 trillion.

The president said Sunday that tariff plans will affect “all countries,” and his administration repeated what was “great” for foreigners compared to the way they charged the US.

“We're better than them,” he said while speaking to the media after signing an unrelated executive order on Monday. “We have a lot of friends and enemies. I always say friends and enemies, but in many cases, friends are worse than enemies. They took advantage of us.

“The numbers are lower than what they've been charging us, and in some cases they may be significantly lower. But we probably have world obligations,” he added. “But we are relatively interesting. We'll be very kind.”

Trump's tariff adviser “isn't wrong,” Lewitt told Fox News' Peter Doucy when asked about his concerns about the plan. “It will work. And the President has an incredible team of advisors who have been studying these issues for decades. And we are focusing on restoring America's golden age and making America a manufacturing superpower.”
