Trump to Hit Imported Steel and Aluminum with 25% Tariffs

President Donald Trump will announce new 25% tariffs on all steel and aluminum that enter the US on Monday. Canada and Mexico.

Canada and Mexico are two of the US's largest steel trading partners, while Canada is the largest supplier of aluminum metals in the country.

According to a report by UPI, Trump told reporters on one of his plans on Sunday, “Steel coming into the US will have 25% tariffs. Aluminum too.”

Trump has also reaffirmed that he will announce “mutual tariffs” (probably Tuesday or Wednesday), meaning that the US will not be able to import goods if other countries are liable for US goods. It means impose.

“If they're charging us 130% and we're not charging them anything, it's not going to stay that way,” he told reporters.

Trump on Sunday did not provide details on steel and aluminum obligations or mutual tariffs.

The president had previously threatened a 25% import tax on all goods from Canada and Mexico, but he suspended 30 days ago a week.

At the same time, he began to add a 10% obligation to imports from China.

During his first term, Trump placed 25% on steel imports and 10% on aluminum imports from Canada, Mexico and the European Union.

However, the US signed a contract with Canada and Mexico a year later to end these tariffs, but the EU import tax remained until 2021.
