America is open for business.
Former President Donald Trump is expected to say this during a campaign speech in Georgia later Tuesday, in which he will offer foreign companies a “deal” they can't refuse to do business in the United States.
During his speech in Savannah, the 45th President would offer companies that manufacture in the United States a 15% corporate tax rate, deregulation, cheap energy, and access to federal land and port infrastructure, but only if they hire American workers and relocate their manufacturing facilities to the US, campaign officials told The Washington Post.
The 78-year-old Trump also criticized Vice President Kamala Harris' economic plan, blasting her support for the Green New Deal, new federal spending that would spur inflation, and her plan to repeal Trump's 2017 tax cuts.
“Everybody will thrive. Every family will thrive. And every day will be filled with opportunity and hope,” Trump is expected to say — but only if Harris' “liberal policies” are destroyed.
If the companies don't agree to a deal, President Trump will impose tariffs similar to those he has imposed on foreign products imported into the United States.
The former president has repeatedly vowed to stop major companies such as U.S. Steel and John Deere from moving operations overseas and has said he would fight to expand American manufacturing to avoid a catastrophic decline in domestic jobs.
“I'm contacting John Deere right now. [move manufacturing to Mexico]”We're going to put a 200% tariff on everything you want to sell to the United States,” Trump said at a meeting with agricultural officials in Pennsylvania on Monday.
In his speech in Georgia, Trump is expected to say he will work to take “jobs” and “factories” from other countries, rather than moving American companies overseas.
Trump will say the revenue will be “trillions” of dollars.
“President Trump's first term delivered explosive economic growth and unparalleled success for both American workers and businesses. His second term will be even more transformative and beneficial,” the Trump adviser said.
“But unless we stop the anti-worker, anti-business onslaught from Kamala Harris and the Democratic Party, our country will never recover.”
