President-elect Trump announced Tuesday that he will nominate TV personality and physician Mehmet Oz to run the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
Mr. Oz ran unsuccessfully for Pennsylvania's Senate in 2022 and has been an ally of Mr. Trump ever since.

Like Kennedy, Oz has no experience running a large bureaucracy. CMS operates Medicare, Medicaid, the Children's Health Insurance Program, and the federal government's Healthcare.gov ObamaCare exchange.
Medicaid covers approximately 80 million low-income people in all 50 states and DC.
