It is unclear whether the Oct. 5 rally will be held at the same Butler location as the July 13 rally.
As Breitbart News reported, on September 15, two months after the first assassination attempt at Butler, Trump survived a second attempt. The would-be assassin, Ryan Wesley Routh, was allegedly caught hiding in bushes near the Trump International Golf Course with a scoped AK-47-style rifle, waiting to ambush Trump as he came into view while he was playing golf.
Secret Service agents, who were apparently a hole or two ahead of Trump to secure the area while he played golf, reportedly encountered Routh before he fired shots at the 45th president.
Routh then allegedly jumped into a black Nissan and fled the scene, but a witness took a photo of his license plate number and sent it to police, who were able to capture and detain the 58-year-old man.
