Trump to Reveal that D.C. Will Hold the 2027 NFL Draft

President Trump Announces NFL Draft for DC

President Donald Trump has revealed that Washington, D.C. will be the host for the 2027 NFL Draft, taking place at the National Mall. According to two sources, the president is expected to make this announcement at the White House alongside NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and the owner of the Washington Commanders.

Previously reported by Breitbart News, the Washington Commanders have reached an agreement to return to RFK Stadium, which was the team’s home from 1961 to 1996. While the details of the agreement remain unclear, there are reports suggesting the cost could exceed $3 billion. Josh Harris, the team’s owner, has expressed his desire to open a new stadium by 2030. Until that new venue is completed, the team will continue to play at Northwest Stadium, with a contract in place in Maryland.

This deal comes after a year of searching by the organization, which gained significant momentum following Harris’s acquisition of the team from Dan Snyder. Harris, who has ties to Maryland, mentioned in July 2023 the significance of playing at RFK Stadium.

Members of the DC Council have voiced concerns about the possibility of public taxes funding the stadium. However, Mayor Muriel Bowser pointed out that the venue could bring in substantial economic benefits, including events like the Super Bowl, Final Four, and concerts.

Trump praised the agreement, calling it a “huge victory for Washington, D.C.”
