Trump to sign order to make English official language of US

President Trump is expected to sign an executive order to make English the official language of the United States and withdraw policies requiring federal agencies to provide language assistance to non-English speakers.

The order not only “encourages new Americans to adopt Japanese language that opens doors to greater opportunities,” but also allows agents to maintain their policies and documents in other languages.

“The agency will do its best to Americans to determine how and when to provide services in languages other than English and how to meet the agency's mission,” according to the Order fact sheet.

The order unifies the United States by making English official, with about 180 countries having official languages and over 350 languages spoken in the United States, but English is the most widely used.

And that is the order to “celebrate the multilingual Americans who learned English and gave it to them.”

Order will be cancelled Presidential Order of 2000 For those with limited English proficiency due to immigration from other countries, “from former President Clinton, whose purpose was to improve access to federal and federal support programs and activities.”

A fact sheet released Friday said Trump “affirms that a common language will promote national unity, help newcomers engage in communities and traditions, and enrich shared cultures.”
