With less than three months to go until the election, a new poll shows Vice President Harris leading by four points over former President Trump in three battleground states. The New York Times/Siena College.
The survey found that: Published As of Saturday morning, it was revealed that Harris was leading Trump in Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania, garnering 50 percent of the support in the hypothetical matchups to Trump’s 46 percent.
Harris’ approval ratings significantly outperformed former President Biden’s in the same battleground states.
In two articles from NYT/Siena investigation Earlier this year, Biden Earned In Pennsylvania, Republicans have 45% approval and Trump has 48% approval, but polls from April and early May showed the president leading his GOP rival in Michigan (47% to 46%) but trailing Trump in Wisconsin (46% to 47%).
Harris has garnered a lot of enthusiasm and support from Democrats since she launched her presidential campaign last month after President Biden dropped out of the 2024 presidential race. She announced Minnesota Governor Tim Walz (D) as her running mate earlier this week.
Harris held several campaign rallies this week in key battleground states, including Michigan and Wisconsin. Her campaign said 14,000 people attended her rally in Philadelphia on Tuesday and 15,000 attended one in Detroit on Wednesday night.
When asked how satisfied voters are with their party’s candidates, the majority of survey respondents answered in the affirmative.
Democrats were more likely than Republicans to say they were satisfied with their candidate, 87% to 79%, respectively. About 12% of Democrats and 19% of Republicans said they were dissatisfied, according to the poll.
About 60% of independents said they were satisfied, while 37% were dissatisfied, according to the survey.
The Times/Siena poll was conducted Aug. 5-8 among 619 likely voters in Michigan and 661 likely voters in Wisconsin. The Pennsylvania survey was conducted Aug. 6-9 among 693 likely voters.
The margin of error for each survey was plus or minus 4.8 percentage points in Michigan, plus or minus 4.3 percentage points in Wisconsin, and plus or minus 4.2 percentage points in Pennsylvania.
According to The Hill/Decision Desk National Polling Index, based on more than 100 surveys, Trump is leading Harris nationally by 0.02 percentage points (47.4 percent to 47.2 percent).
