Donald Trump is introducing new regulations for government professionals.
“Performing, career government staff involved in policy issues will be classified as a ‘policy/career schedule’ and expected to meet the highest standards of conduct and achievement,” Trump stated.
Following my recent executive order, the Human Resources Bureau will enforce new civil servant rules for governmental employees. As we progress, career government personnel engaged in policy work will be labeled as “scheduling policy/career” and must adhere to top standards of conduct and performance. If these officials do not support the president’s policy goals or partake in unethical activities, they should no longer hold their positions. This is straightforward, enabling the federal government to operate “like a business.” We need to eliminate corruption and ensure accountability among federal employees!
The modification impacts “approximately 50,000 employees or 2% of the federal workforce,” as outlined in a White House memorandum referencing estimates from the administration’s Office of Personnel Management.
The administration’s Office of Personnel Management (OPM) indicated that adjustments to the regulations in Trump’s executive order “reestablish accountability for positions that infringe on policy within the federal workforce” will pertain to around 50,000 employees or 2% of the federal workforce, according to a memo issued by the White House on Friday.
