Trump Introduces New Slogan and Hat at White House Event

On Tuesday, President Donald Trump unveiled a fresh slogan and a new red hat that featured the phrase “America Is Back!” This occurred during the signing of the Consolidated Appropriations Act, marking the federal government’s reopening. The White House was filled with Republican lawmakers who gathered for the ceremony.

As they proceeded with the signing, House Speaker Mike Johnson stood next to Trump at the Oval Office’s resolute desk, expressing his enthusiasm for the message. “This is good for the country. America is back,” he stated, calling the hat’s slogan “appropriate” for the occasion.

It was during this event that Trump pointed out the novelty of the hat, taking notice of it in Johnson’s grasp. “This is a new hat,” Trump remarked. “[It] just came out. America is back,” he added, clearly pleased with the branding.

Humorously, Trump also noted CNN’s Caitlan Collins in the press corps, teasing, “Look, CNN is excited.” He commented on her usual demeanor, saying, “Look at her—she never smiles. But someday I’ll see her smile.”

While the event primarily aimed at promoting a significant government funding package, the hats quickly garnered attention as a visual highlight. However, as of that afternoon, the “America is back!” hats were not yet available for purchase on the official Trump Store website, which currently features other Trump merchandise, including MAGA hats.

As Republicans rallied around the passage of the Consolidated Appropriations Act (CAA) following some uncertainty, Johnson expressed his support for Trump during the bill’s signing. The CAA officially funds most federal agencies through the end of the fiscal year, though longer-term funding for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is still under separate discussions.

Later, Trump clarified that this new phrase wasn’t intended to replace his well-known slogan, “Make America Great Again.” “We will never forget MAGA,” he emphasized, while Sen. Barrasso (R-Wyo.) remarked, “I thought this was very appropriate. I love it.”

There’s still some ambiguity regarding when or if the “America Is Back” hats will hit the shelves in the United States. For now, it seems the fans might have to wait a bit longer.
