Trump Reviews Renovations from White House Roof
On Monday, President Donald Trump was spotted on the roof of the White House, apparently assessing potential renovations to the presidential residence. This unusual vantage point was right above the West Wing and the press briefing room, where reporters were gathered on the lawn below. Due to his presence, there was significant security accompanying the appearance.
During his time on the roof, Trump interacted with several individuals, although he did not clarify their identities or mentions of disagreements. This rooftop visit followed his announcement that he and private donors will fund a new ballroom at the White House, estimated to cost around $200 million.
Submarines Deployed Against Russia
Trump also noted that two nuclear submarines are currently “in the region,” a move interpreted as a counter to Russian activities. White House Press Chief Karoline Leavitt stated that construction for the new ballroom is slated to start in September, aiming for completion well before Trump’s term ends.
Adding a New Flag
Additionally, Trump has undertaken the funding for two 88-foot American flags, each costing approximately $50,000. These flags are set to be prominent features at the White House.
Leavitt mentioned the need for a new ballroom to eliminate the necessity of setting up a large, unattractive tent roughly 100 yards from the main entrance. She described the addition as “very necessary and exquisite,” emphasizing it would serve as a dedicated space for official events, state dinners, and other large gatherings.
Security measures during construction will be enhanced by the U.S. Secret Service, ensuring safety for both workers and the property. With this new project, the ballroom is expected to occupy around 90,000 square feet and comfortably seat approximately 650 guests, all while maintaining the traditional aesthetic of the White House.
