Former Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean said Tuesday on MSNBC’s “The Beat” that former President Donald Trump would be willing to destroy the United States.
Dean said, “But Mr. Trump can’t afford not to run. He won’t do the same thing as Johnson. Mr. Trump is bound to run. Mr. Trump lives to avoid attention. For a man, winning or losing matters little as long as he’s the center of attention. That wasn’t true of Lyndon Johnson, and it wasn’t true of Dick Nixon. It’s a very different situation. He will gladly bring the Republican Party, and for that matter, the United States, to its knees as long as he is a target. That is his disease.”
Additionally, “Haley’s hope is that Trump’s “You have to be able to express yourself well as an alternative,” he added. I’m confident Joe Biden can beat Trump in a push-up contest. It might have been different if it had been a cheeseburger eating contest. That’s a very different situation. There’s a man here and I think he’s unstable and needs attention. So he can’t let this go. ”
Dean concluded that “he needs long-term treatment for his mental disorder.”
