Trump wins Kentucky GOP primary

Former President Trump has won Kentucky’s Republican presidential primary, according to Decision Desk Headquarters.

Trump, who has already secured the Republican nomination, will at least add most of the state’s 46 delegates to his total. Kentucky distributes delegates proportionally, meaning candidates must receive at least 15 percent of the vote to win delegates.

Trump was the only active candidate on the ballot, but former candidate Nikki Haley, who has continued to garner support in various races since dropping out of the race, won about 20% of the vote in Maryland and Nebraska and about 10% in West Virginia in last week’s primaries.

Voters can also choose the “uncommitted” option instead of a listed candidate.

Trump is likely to win the heavily Republican Bluegrass state in November, just as he did in 2016 and 2020.
