On Tuesday, Trump won Michigan’s 16-delegate primary by a 40-point margin. After the Democratic Party rescheduled its primary election, the Republican Party held its convention on Saturday and recognized 39 delegates.
By Saturday afternoon, DDHQ estimated the former president had won all 39 delegates to the Republican convention.
Because holding a primary on a new date would violate national Republican Party rules, the Michigan Republican Party decided to hold a primary and convention as a compromise and win a majority of delegates during the convention. did.
