Former President Trump on Sunday stood behind the counter at a McDonald's in Pennsylvania and briefly worked in the drive-thru, after weeks of mocking Vice President Harris' past experience at the fast food chain.
Trump traded his suit jacket for an apron at a McDonald's in Bucks County. He used a fryer and handed orders to customers at the drive-thru.
The former president stopped by a fast food chain in front of City Hall in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, late Sunday. He is also scheduled to play in Sunday night's game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the New York Jets.
For weeks, Trump has focused on Harris' experience working at McDonald's during her college years.
In August, the Harris campaign launched an ad highlighting the vice president's background in an effort to appeal to middle-class voters.
In the ad, Harris pointed out: I worked at McDonald's while earning a degree from Howard University. She drew on that experience in past campaigns.
President Trump and his allies have repeatedly suggested that Harris does not actually work at McDonald's because she is not listed on her resume.
Trump quipped on Sunday: “I worked 15 minutes more than Kamala.”
The Harris campaign did not respond to a request for comment on President Trump's visit to McDonald's. A campaign spokesperson highlighted the exchange regarding X, in which President Trump did not say he supported raising the minimum wage.
Joseph Costello: “Trump is a billionaire's sock when it comes to policies that matter to working people's bank accounts.'' Posted in X.
President Trump's love of fast food is well known. The former president was photographed eating McDonald's on campaign planes, and in 2019 served college athletes who visited the White House's McDonald's, Wendy's and Burger King.
When asked what his favorite McDonald's product is, President Trump replied, “I like everything. I like everything.” “But I like French fries. I'll be working there.”
